We are pleased to share our new report, Workforce & Population Strategies for the Transition to Renewable Energy Systems: Pathways and Initiatives. This publication focuses on pathways and initiatives that address the most pressing workforce and population challenges of the renewable energy transition.
The report builds directly on our earlier publication, Workforce & Population Strategies for the Transition to Renewable Energy Systems: Labour as an Implementation Gap (published 27 March 2025), which outlined six major bottlenecks standing in the way of a competent and future-ready workforce. While the original report identified the challenges, this one takes the next step by presenting strategic interventions and pathways to address each bottleneck.
Over the past months, we have conducted a series of workshops with industry experts who contributed to the original report to explore each bottleneck in depth. Their insights have been essential in shaping the pathways presented here, ensuring they are not only theoretically sound but also grounded in the practical realities of industry, education, and policy.
The result is a set of initiatives designed to have systemic, evaluative, and knowledge-based impact, creating long-term change across the renewable energy transition.
You can read the full report by downloading it from our Publications page (Part 2), which also includes the individual bottleneck briefs.
